Our strategy for making the North East of England leaders in Accessible Tourism, Leisure and Travel in the UK focuses on collaborative engagement.
We aim to work with the 12 local authorities:

- Gateshead Council
- Hartlepool Borough Council
- Middlesbrough Council
- Newcastle City Council
- North Tyneside Council
- Northumberland County Council
- Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council
- South Tyneside Council
- Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council
- Sunderland City Council
- Durham County Council
and the regional tourism partners:
- NewcastleGateshead Initiative
- Northumberland Tourism
- Visit County Durham
- Tees Valley Unlimited
as well as other trade organisations and individual businesses.
We aim to establish how accessible the North East is, identify how it can be improved and promote the Accessible North East to visitors from the rest of the UK, overseas as well as to residents of the region.
