Fly me to where I want to go. Please make sure my wheelchair is waiting for me at the door of the plane when I arrive and hasn’t been damaged en route.
That’s basically all I want when I fly. I can actually walk to and from my seat if my chair is at the door of the plane. I really need an aisle seat, too, located not to far from the toilet.
Simple requirements which should be relatively easy for airlines and airport ground staff to provide, but my history of flying has been far from problem free.
The web is full of horror story blogs about people who have had problems when flying, so it’s not just me.
I’m working with airlines, airports and other organisations seeking a more effective way to deliver a first class service to people who need assistance when flying, so please share your experiences, good and bad, by contacting me at steve@wheelchairsteve.com.
I’d like to publish a league table showing which airlines and airports are best.
